Baffled by the name of the site? S3KUR3 is pronounced "secure". I chose to spell it in "hacker-speak" as a play on words so to speak. Here is what the Webster.com dictionary entry for "secure" says: Main Entry: 1se·cure Pronunciation: si-'kyur Function: adjective Inflected Form(s): se·cur·er; -est Etymology: Latin securus safe, secure, from se without + cura care -- more at SUICIDE 1 a archaic : unwisely free from fear or distrust : OVERCONFIDENT b : easy in mind : CONFIDENT c : assured in opinion or expectation : having no doubt 2 a : free from danger b : free from risk of loss c : affording safety <a secure hideaway> d : TRUSTWORTHY, DEPENDABLE <a secure foundation> 3 : ASSURED 1 <a secure victory>
For the purposes of computer and network security, we use definition 2. In my work and in my writing, I seek to help my customers and readers to be more secure- free from danger or risk of loss- as they use their computers, surf the Web, purchase products online, etc. If you are in need of freelance writing or editing, S3KUR3 can help you out. We can provide you with white papers, articles, web content, training presentations, sales collateral, technical processes, and more. If you need it written, S3KUR3 can write it. Check out the Published Work link for links to the various print and web projects S3KUR3 has worked on. You can also check out our blog site at Essential Computer Security.
